Overview
Austin is a trial lawyer who has taken over a dozen trials to verdict. Additionally, he has secured favorable outcomes via motion practice and settlement leading to dozens of defense judgments and over $10 million in damages recovered on behalf of his individual and organizational clients. Austin’s multi-jurisdictional practice focuses on catastrophic injury, governmental/public entity liability, product liability, and professional negligence. He handles matters at both the state and federal level representing defendants and plaintiffs at every level of litigation.
Austin’s representation extends beyond the trial court to appellate advocacy where he has appeared and argued before multiple State District Courts and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Austin’s practice has earned him annual recognition amongst publications such as The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch.
In addition to his litigation practice, Austin serves as the Co-Chair for the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorney’s Young Lawyer Committee. Austin also assists his alma mater’s trial competition program.

Summary judgment affirmed on a legal malpractice case based upon the statute of repose.

Decision affirmed in a case involving a dock ownership and placement dispute between plaintiffs-property owners and defendants-neighboring property owners and homeowner’s association in which plaintiffs claimed conversion and sought declaratory relief. The trial court’s order granting summary judgment in favor of defendants was affirmed, as was the order granting association’s counterclaim for indemnification, where evidence shows that plaintiffs had acquiesced to the neighboring owners' exclusive control of the dock, which had been relocated entirely within the neighboring water space, and had not demonstrated ownership, thereby barring their conversion claim.
