CINCINNATI, OH – Reminger Co., LPA obtained a defense award in a recent FINRA arbitration in Cincinnati, Ohio.

DRI member and Reminger Financial Services Professional Liability Chair Andrew J. Dorman and Katie Lynn Zorc defended a securities professional/insurance agent from claims of negligence, negligent misrepresentation, and fraud brought by the Estate of a former client related to her purchase of a Single Immediate Premium Annuity (“SPIA”). The client elected not to have a death benefit. When the client unexpectedly died two months later, her Estate sued for recovery of the premium and alleged the recommendation of the SPIA was unsuitable and improper.  The Panel found in favor of Reminger’s client on all counts and granted their request for expungement.
