Robert A. West, Jr.

Bob is a seasoned litigator with twenty years of experience. He is a trusted advisor to insurance providers, financial institutions, private and public corporations, and individuals, across industries.

He focuses his practice on all facets of intellectual property litigation, including pre-suit investigations and searches, trials, appeals, and post-grant patent matters. Bob handles administrative matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), as well as matters before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB), the Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB), the International Trade Commission (ITC), the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) involving post-grant review (PGR), inter partes review (IPR), Section 337 actions, and related appeals.

In addition to his IP litigation experience, Bob is a registered patent attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He routinely drafts trademark and patent applications. Bob’s strong interest in helping entrepreneurs and businesses thrive results in him working tirelessly with his clients to create, develop, and subsequently leverage their intellectual property portfolios to advance their business goals. Bob manages IP portfolios, ensuring competitors are not infringing, while also negotiating, drafting, and reviewing license, royalty, and purchase agreements. 

Bob regularly gives strategic advice and analysis regarding the formation, management, and enforcement of intellectual property assets.

Throughout his career, Bob has always maintained a robust probate litigation practice involving estate, will and trust contests, guardianship actions, executor and trustee removal actions, interpretation of ambiguities in wills and trusts, accountings, breaches of fiduciary duty, and claims seeking to void gifts and beneficiary designations.
