Overview
Bob is a shareholder in Reminger Co. LPA’s Cleveland office. He is a trusted advisor to both individuals, financial institutions, and private and public corporations. Regardless of the issue, Bob is recognized for his experience, intellect, dedication, and persistence. He strives to exceed client expectations by providing sound legal counsel and seeking win/win solutions for his clients.
As an experienced civil litigator, Bob has represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including general commercial litigation, contract disputes, business torts, insurance defense and coverage disputes, intellectual property litigation, opioid multi-district litigation, pharmaceutical class action, product liability, personal injury, legal and professional malpractice, and other civil actions in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Bob also advises businesses in out-of-court resolutions, including mediation and arbitration.
Throughout his career, Bob has always maintained a robust probate litigation practice involving estate, will and trust contests, guardianship actions, executor and trustee removal actions, interpretation of ambiguities in wills and trusts, accountings, breaches of fiduciary duty, and claims seeking to void gifts and beneficiary designations.
Bob’s consumer financial services practice involves advising and representing individuals, financial institutions and mortgage servicers on a broad array of consumer finance related matters, including creditors’ rights and lender liability, unfair credit reporting, unfair debt collection, telephone consumer protection, unfair business practices, electronic fund transfers, commercial foreclosures, commercial collection and replevin, cases alleging wrongful/abusive collection tactics, wrongful repossession, wrongful foreclosure, tortious interference, conspiracy, defamation, preference, and violations of the Consumer Sales Practices Act, the Uniform Commercial Code, the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Retail Installment Sales Act, and the Second Mortgage Loan Act.
Bob is also a licensed patent attorney with the USPTO who assists clients in obtaining U.S. and foreign patents, trademarks, and copyrights. He works with clients to build and establish a comprehensive intellectual property strategy that reflects all of the issues that could impact their business, both today and tomorrow. Bob works with clients in the negotiating, drafting, and reviewing of contracts, including license and purchase agreements. Bob regularly gives strategic advice and analysis regarding the formation, management, and enforcement of intellectual property assets.
Through the combination of Bob’s patent license with his litigation experience, Bob has defended and prosecuted intellectual property claims, including patent infringement, trademark, trade dress and copyright infringement, trade secret, false designation of origin, Digital Millennium Copyright Act, unfair competition and deceptive trade practices, and false advertising matters.
