Columbus, OH – Reminger Co., LPA is pleased to announce that several Reminger attorneys were recognized at the Ohio Women’s Bar Association Annual meeting, held on May 8th in Columbus, Ohio.

The Ohio Women’s Bar Association (OWBA) was formed in 1991 in order to build a community of lawyers who are interested in the issues that uniquely affect women. The OWBF was formed in 2008 as the educational and charitable arm of the Ohio Women's Bar Association. The Foundation's mission is to accelerate the advancement of women lawyers as leaders in the profession and to facilitate their service to the community. 

Carrie Masters Starts was sworn in as OWBA/OWBF Board Liaison. Carrie focuses her legal practice in the areas of general liability, premises liability, medical and non-medical professional liability, insurance coverage and employment law. Since joining Reminger in 2008, Carrie has litigated cases in state and federal court and has experience handling all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation and trial. She has tried cases in state and federal court. She has also briefed and argued cases on appeal in Ohio, Kentucky and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, Carrie has defended professionals and financial institutions in administrative proceedings in Ohio and Kentucky.

Carrie is a member of various bar associations. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Women’s Bar Association and was elected to the Supreme Court Judicial Ratings Committee. In addition to her practice, Carrie currently coaches the Trial Advocacy team at Chase College of Law.

Laurie Avery was recognized as an outgoing OWBA At-Large Trustee. Laurie has successfully defended numerous jury trials in matters ranging from employment discrimination, professional negligence, general tort and commercial disputes. She has also successfully defended numerous administrative charges of discrimination and labor arbitrations for local employers. Laurie represents professionals and businesses in a wide range of matters in both state and federal courts in Ohio and Michigan. She is a member of the firm's Management Group and serves as a Leader of the Employment Practices, Commercial Premises Liability and Intellectual Property and Technology practice groups.

Laurie has been recognized as both an Ohio Rising Star and as an Ohio Super Lawyer multiple times. She was honored with the 20 under 40 Leadership Award and ‘Who’s Who in Area Law,” by the Toledo Business Journal. Laurie was also selected as one of the “Best Law Firm Writers of 2011” by the Burton Awards. She is also a 2012-2013 OWBF Leadership Institute class member.

In addition, Christine Santoni  continues to serve as co-chair on the Judicial Selection Committee. Since joining Reminger. in 1993, Christine has practiced in several specialized areas including professional liability, medical malpractice, employment law and workers' compensation. Over the years she has developed significant litigation experience, having tried over 40 cases.

Christine is also a frequent speaker to professionals on litigation-related topics. She has been honored by her peers as one of the Best Lawyers in America. Among her many professional memberships and community affiliations, Christine serves on the Reminger Foundation Board of Directors, the YWCA of Greater Cleveland Advisory Council, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Bench-Bar Committee, and as a 3R’s Volunteer in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
