Evan Schantz

Evan is an associate in Reminger’s Columbus office. His practice focuses on worker’s compensation, general liability, government liability, and employment. Evan is licensed in Ohio as well as both federal Ohio District Courts and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Evan has experience handling a wide variety of matters from pre-suit through to trial at both state and federal levels as well as arbitration through the American Arbitration Association. Evan’s practice has an emphasis on strong writing with a history of success in both Motions for Judgment on the Pleadings and Motions for Summary Judgment.

Prior to joining Reminger, Evan received both his Bachelor of Art and Juris Doctor degrees from The University of Akron—a true Zip. While at the University of Akron, Evan excelled in both the Moot Court and Trial Team programs competing in the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition and the National Civil Trial Competition.

After graduating from law school, Evan got his start representing injured workers in Ohio’s worker’s compensation system at both the Industrial Commission and Court levels. The training and experience he gained by doing thousands of Industrial Commission hearings laid the bedrock for his proficiency in oral advocacy. Evan also returned to the Akron Law Trial Team to volunteer as a coach.

Representative Experience

Obtained summary judgment in favor of several different national corporations in general liability claims.

Obtained a total defense verdict for a police officer in a federal trial on a novel due process claim.
