Susan Blasik-Miller and Shannon Bockelman Secure Trial Victory for Physician

Susan Blasik-Miller and Shannon Bockelman secured a defense verdict for their physician client in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case. The plaintiff alleged that our client failed to timely refer the patient, who had an abscess in her gluteal area, to a specialist. Plaintiff claimed that our client should have referred the patient to a specialist six weeks sooner, and had that occurred, the patient would have survived.

Bockelman and Blasik-Miller argued that the plaintiff’s cancer was extremely rare and aggressive with no clear warning signs, and that the patient declined multiple appointments, complicating care.

After approximately 90 minutes of deliberation, the jury returned with a verdict in favor of our client.
