FORT MITCHELL, KY – Reminger Co., LPA is pleased to announce that Ralph E. Burnham and J. Kelly Ratliff have joined the Fort Mitchell, Kentucky office of Reminger Co., LPA.

Ralph E. Burnham:
Ralph practices in all areas of civil litigation, and primarily focuses in the areas of blasting construction, mining, commercial explosives, and transportation in both state and federal courts. As national counsel for multiple blasting insurers and clients, Ralph has successfully defended his blasting clients in jury trials and in hundreds of cases throughout the country. Ralph is a member of industry organizations such as the International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE), the Kentucky Crushed Stone Association (KCSA), and serves as a board member for the ISEE Bluegrass Chapter. He is frequently asked to speak on legal issues facing the blasting community at industry seminars and conferences.

Ralph also defends real estate appraisers, both in court and before state regulatory agencies. As an advocate for real estate appraisers, he has successfully tried appraisal cases to juries in Ohio and Kentucky, defended appraisers before appraisal boards in both states, and has lectured on issues of importance to the appraisal industry. Ralph was recently honored by the Kentucky Real Estate Appraisal Board, which requested he address legal issues facing real estate appraisers at each of the board’s 2017 continuing educational seminars throughout the state. Ralph is also an approved mediator with the Hamilton County, Ohio, Court of Common Pleas.

J. Kelly Ratliff:
Kelly practices in all areas of civil litigation and primarily concentrates his practice on representing blasting, construction, mining, and transportation companies in both state and federal courts. Kelly is an involved member of industry organizations, including the Kentucky Crushed Stone Association (KCSA) and the International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE), and is ISEE-certified. Working with some of the best in the blasting industry, Kelly has developed a technical proficiency that enables him to better represent clients. He is familiar with blasting procedures and regulations, understands the scientific principles involved, and is able to read and understand shot reports and seismograph readings. As a result, he is able to accurately assess potential exposure, to communicate more effectively with clients, regulators, and consultants, and to establish credibility with jurors.

Kelly has substantial experience defending clients in lawsuits concerning various claims, including property damage claims; multi-property claims concerning quarry, surface mining, and construction operations; water well claims; landslide and subsidence claims; and personal injury and wrongful death cases. He has tried several cases to verdict and mediated hundreds of claims. He also counsels clients and regularly presents to industry groups around the country on risk management and liability prevention practices, from implementing standard operating procedures and proper recordkeeping, to responding to citizen complaints and investigating claims and accidents.

Kelly’s practice and litigation experience also includes defending motor carriers and drivers against wrongful death and personal injury claims as well as numerous companies in the aviation industry.
