Adam and Mark received the recognition from Best Lawyers in America, a respected legal publication that selects its outstanding attorneys by conducting peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their peers. The lawyers honored as "Lawyers of the Year" have received particularly high ratings in these surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their professionalism, ability and integrity. Adam M. Fried: As a shareholder in the estate, trust, and probate litigation practice group at Reminger,  Adam focuses his practice on matters of estate, trust, probate and guardianship controversy.  Whether he is retained to pursue or defend a will contest, a trust dispute, or to challenge the activities of a trustee, executor or guardian, he has garnered a reputation for developing and implementing effective litigation tactics and a common-sense approach to resolution.

This is the second time that Adam has been selected as “Best Lawyers” Lawyer of the Year, Cleveland, for Trusts and Estates Litigation, having previously been bestowed this honor in 2015. Adam has been listed in Best Lawyers of America since 2009 for Elder Law and Litigation - Trusts and Estates.  Adam has been honored as an Ohio Super Lawyer since 2012.  He was peer reviewed by Martindale-Hubbell® and given an AV Preeminent® rating.

Adam has been elected a fellow to the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and has authored and lectured nationally on issues pertaining to client decision making, legal capacity, the exercise of undue influence and financial exploitation of the elderly.  He also taught the wills and trust and estate course at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. 

Adam is involved in the community, having served as the chairperson for the Consortium Against Adult Abuse, a five-county taskforce charged with developing plans, strategies, and education to help the community prevent against abuse, financial exploitation and neglect of the elderly.  By appointment of the Cuyahoga County Probate Court, he also served on the steering committee to create an I-Team consisting of multiple professional disciplines whose role is to troubleshoot complicated cases relating to the plight of at-risk adults.   He is the immediate past president of the William K. Thomas Chapter of the American Inns of Court and is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Estate Planning Trust and Probate Section Council where he is actively involved in legislative efforts relevant to the law of probate, estates, trusts, and guardianships.

Mark A. MacDonald: Mark is a shareholder in Reminger’s Cincinnati office, where he focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense and insurance defense litigation matters. Mark has cultivated an illustrious career over the past thirty-plus years as an attorney representing hospitals, physicians, dentists, and other medical professionals in the allied health care arena.  He has represented the attending physicians of the University of Cincinnati for the past 18 years. An accomplished trial attorney, Mark has tried dozens of jury trials to verdict

Mark started his legal career in 1980 as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Lyle W. Castle, a 1st District Court of Appeals Judge. Mark continued his clerkship and followed Judge Castle to the newly created 12th District Court of Appeals for a couple of years until joining a Cincinnati-based litigation firm. Mark worked on a varied caseload with some of the area’s highest profile attorneys. Heeding to his entrepreneurial nature, he started a firm a few years later with several other attorneys where he worked on a variety of legal matters. After several years he was recruited by a large regional firm, where he continued to hone his skills in medical malpractice defense as well as non-medical insurance defense matters including car accidents, larger dollar motor vehicle cases for trucking companies, construction cases, employment law matters and more.

Mark has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2008 for Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants. Mark has been honored as an Ohio Super Lawyer since 2007. He was peer reviewed by Martindale-Hubbell® and given an AV Preeminent® rating.
