Last year in Cuyahoga County Ohio over 2,000 adults were known victims of abuse, neglect, self-neglect and exploitation. Unfortunately, no one is immune. It occurs in every zip code, and can happen to anyone, a family member, a neighbor, even you. It is estimated that only about one in five of those crimes are ever discovered. The purpose of this Forum is to raise awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.
