In re Guardianship of McIntire, 2nd Dist. App. No. 2012-CA-29, 2013 Ohio 5051. The appellant was found to be incompetent and that a guardianship should be established and an attorney-guardian was appointed. Upon the attorney-guardian's retirement, the court appointed another attorney-guardian, this time a female. The ward vehemently objected to the appointment of the female guardian on the sole basis that the guardian was a female. The court found that the appointed guardian was suitable in every way and denied the ward's objections and the court's appointment was upheld on appeal.
