TOLEDO, OH - Laurie J. Avery and David R. Hudson of Reminger Co., LPA in Toledo were selected as "Who's Who in Area Law" by the Toledo Business Journal, honoring the Top 100 Attorneys in Northwest Ohio.

“Who’s Who in Area Law” is a regional list of outstanding attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes both peer nominations and client assessments. The “Who’s Who” list is an effort by the Toledo Business Journal to help identify the most credible, highly capable legal professionals practicing law in the area.

Laurie Avery:

Laurie has successfully defended numerous jury trials in matters ranging from employment discrimination, professional negligence, general tort and commercial disputes. She has also successfully defended numerous administrative charges of discrimination and labor arbitrations for local employers. Laurie represents professionals and businesses in a wide range of matters in both state and federal courts in Ohio and Michigan. She is a member of the firm's Management Group and serves as a Leader of Employment Practices, Commercial Premises Liability and Intellectual Property/E-Commerce and Cyber Risk practice groups.

Laurie is a frequent lecturer for Council on Education in Management on employment related topics. She has presented at numerous continuing legal education seminars in the areas of commercial premises liability, employment law, professional liability and technology. In 2009, Laurie received Toledo's “20 under 40” Leadership Award. Laurie was recognized as a Super Lawyer by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine in 2011, from 2014 through 2016, and named “Top 50 Female Ohio.” Laurie was recently appointed as a Trustee-at-Large for the Ohio Women's Bar Association and a Trustee for the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence. She has been a mentor for the Supreme Court of Ohio's Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program for the last three years and also serves on the Toledo Bar Association Grievance Committee, currently serving a two-year term as the Chair.

David Hudson:

David's practice is focused on civil defense litigation, including trucking and transportation claims, real estate title litigation, professional liability claims, employment law claims, and securities litigation. David has experience in defending complex tort litigation, class action disputes and catastrophic injury claims. He handles litigated claims for clients in state and federal courts in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Since 2014, David has been recognized as one of Ohio's Rising Stars by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine with respect to his litigation practice.

David graduated from Wilmington College with a degree in criminal justice and a minor in accounting.  He also played four years of college basketball.  Prior to becoming a lawyer, David worked as a special investigator for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, conducting national security background investigations in the Washington D.C. area.  In 2006, David returned to Ohio and attended the University of Toledo Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 2009.  In his free time, David enjoys spending time on his family's farm.
