After clerking for two years in the Federal Court of the Northern District of Ohio, in 1982 Cheryl began her civil liability defense career in Cleveland. Over the last thirty years her practice has evolved from a general litigation practice with an emphasis on product liability work to professional liability defense work for lawyers, doctors, dentists and insurance agents. Cheryl has tried over 50 professional liability cases. She represents Waste Management and other general liability clients. She has also been a featured speaker at various northeast Ohio seminars for continuing education regarding legal and medical malpractice issues.
For the 2007 trial year, American Physicians Assurance Corporation awarded Cheryl the title of Ohio Lawyer of the Year in recognition of her multiple trial victories and high percentage of file closings without payment. In September 2010, Cheryl was a member of a three-person panel at the ABA National Legal Malpractice Conference. Cheryl was selected as an Ohio Super Lawyer in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
