Reminger Co., LPA Announces New Leadership Structure in Estates and Trusts Practice Group

Reminger Co., LPA is pleased to announce a new leadership structure within our Estates and Trusts Practice Group.  

Bolstered by years of dedicated experience in Ohio's probate courts, this new structure will allow our growing team to better serve our clients across the state. New leadership appointments include: 

  • Adam M. Fried – Statewide Chair, Estates and Trusts Practice Group 
  • Timothy J. Gallagher – Chair, Guardianships Practice Group 
  • Jessica S. Forrest – Co-Chair, Estates, Trusts, and Probate Litigation Practice Group 
  • Paul R. Shugar – Co-Chair, Estates, Trusts, and Probate Litigation Practice Group  

Adam M. Fried will serve as the Statewide Chair of Reminger’s Estates and Trusts Practice Group, which is comprised of attorneys from the following specialties: Elder Law & Special Needs Planning, Estate and Trust Administration (both led by Allison McMeechan), Estates, Trusts, and Probate Litigation (led by Jessica Forrest and Paul Shugar), Estate Planning (led by Barbara Janovitz), and Guardianships (led by Timothy Gallagher). In this role, Adam will focus on expanding our award-winning legal services to clients throughout the state of Ohio.

Adam has been twice named Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year for both Trust and Estates Litigation and Elder Law, and he focuses his practice on high-end, complex, and multi-party estate and trust litigation.   

Timothy J. Gallagher has been named Chair of Reminger’s Guardianships Practice Group. Reminger’s guardianship attorneys assist families with the process of guardianship appointment, termination, and defense.  

Tim focuses his practice on matters involving probate, guardianship, trust, and estate administration. Tim leverages his jury trial experience to provide representation in probate and trust disputes involving will contests, charges of undue influence, breach of fiduciary duty actions, and other potential issues that can complicate the settling of an estate. He represents trustees and executors of estates, creating flexible plans to meet their needs. Tim's experience in the area of probate and trust administration includes the drafting of estate plans for both individuals and families, and assisting them through the probate process. He also advises institutions on a variety of trust administration issues. 

Jessica S. Forrest and Paul R. Shugar have been named Co-Chairs of the firm’s Estates, Trusts, and Probate Litigation Practice Group. With more than 100 years of combined experience, our probate and trust litigation group members are seasoned trial attorneys who prosecute and defend cases before mediators, arbitrators, magistrates, judges, and juries throughout Ohio.  

As a shareholder in our Cleveland and Akron offices, Jessica focuses her practice on matters involving probate litigation, trust disputes, estate administration, and estate planning. Jessica helps to steer estate and trust policy state-wide as a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law Section Council. She is involved in her local legal community, serving as a trial team coach for the University of Akron School of Law, a volunteer instructor at Akron Law's Summer Trial Academy, and a member of the Akron Bar Association (past chair of the Estate Planning, Probate & Elder Law Section). Jessica also serves on several non-profit boards. She especially enjoys mentoring new lawyers and encouraging them to consider trust and estate work. 

As a shareholder in Reminger's Cleveland office, Paul has statewide experience involving an array of million-dollar estate, trust, and guardianship issues such as undue influence, power of attorney abuse, and financial exploitation. An award-winning journalist who worked at daily newspapers around the country before becoming a lawyer, Paul employs the writing and investigation skills he developed as a reporter to maximize results in litigation. Paul regularly lectures on estate and trust administration and litigation topics across the state of Ohio. He is a former chair of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Law Section and a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Probate Trust and Estate Section Council.
